Jesus Christo, its been a good while

So dude its been 4 months since I put shit up here. Not that my other posts have been shit, but you get the idea. It's been an extremely busy 4 months at that. Lets see, the last time I posted anything was way back when in June. Its not the beginning of November. Where the fuck did the time go??? I guess its just one of the unfortunate downsides of becoming old. Oh well. Well since I have you all here lets recap as to what the hell I've been doing with the last 4 months of my life...*picture wavy sides, like in a flashback sequence, and that twangy harp music*

So lets see, when I last posted in June I was in the beginning of my summer session at school. I finished that up surprisingly well for the amount of shit I had to do in a very short period of time. The only class that really suffered was my child psych class, cause it was the longest (6 weeks) so I would spend all my time in that class studying for my other, shorter classes, assuming I would have plenty of time for the psych class, cause it was 6 weeks. But hey, I pulled a C, and they always say C's earn degrees so I'm good to go. One other thing that did suffer because of all this "education" nonsense was my dedication to the gym. I had been going at least once a week, but most of the time it was around 3 times. Once I got enthralled in all the summer school classes (3, thats 15 units, way to many!) I never had any time on top of my job at the library. So suffice it to say that I've been to the gym once in the last 4 months. But I've been trying to stay active by playing volleyball and softball on occasion. My weight has suffered a bit for it, I'm no longer the svelt 163 I was chillin at, but then again I'm nowhere near the robust 205 I started the year at. I've been hovering around 175ish for the last month or 2, and thats not that bad.

So yeah, I finished summer school and was all revved up for my final quarter as an undergrad, when my bogus school canceled one of my classes for low enrollment, which is total nonsense cause they canceled it like a month before the quarter even started, so how do they know if anyone was gonna sign up or not? So I get on my high horse and ready to be all pissy when I go up to the school to complain, and they seemed to sense it cause my usual advisor at the time, Andy, asked if I was upset. I don't know if she sensed it or if she just knew the class was canceled, ergo upset comm majors. Anyway, she pawns me off on this new chick Kristal, and she goes to work on righting my wrongs and getting me into an independent study class to get this one out of the way. Way to go new chick.

Over the summer I also had Cody's 6th birthday party, which was much more cheaper and enjoyable than his 5th. My family and Cody's other grandparents brought his cousin to Zuma beach and we played in the water all day. $35 for sandwich fixins is a helluva lot better than $300+ for chuck e cheese. Damn expensive kids... But anyways, I also went to the warped tour in San Diego, which was a pretty good time. I was supposed to go with this chick Michelle from work but she was lame and gave me some lame excuse and bailed, so I ended up going with another friend that I hadn't seen in a long time, so we got to catch up and it ended up bein a pretty good time.

Once the summer was over I quit the library and started substitute teaching. Its awesome, but only if I'm teaching 4th grade and below. I've found that 5th grade is when they start to turn on you. The district I teach in has schools with K-8th grade. I thought the bigger kids would be better cause they're older and smarter, but that just makes them more assholes and disrespectful. Something has apparentely happened in the youth culture between now and when I was in school. My first class I taught was a 7th grade class. I got hit with a paper airplane, had to constantly yell over the class to be heard, and ended the day being told to shut my mouth you fuckin whitey. All in all a pretty exciting day. Its gotten much better since then however, as I've tried to stick with the younger grades. So the moral of the story is, screw kids in middle school.

So also since my last post has been like a bajillion good movies. Transformers was awesome. I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, SuperBad and Good Luck Chuck were all hilarious. Finally my new shows have started again. My busy Monday night got even busier now that Chuck and Journeyman are on the air. They've been added to Heroes, How I Met Your Mother and 2 1/2 Men. I love the fall for this and only this; new episodes of my shows. Another good one is Life. As much as I don't like cop shows, I do like this one. Apparently its my exception to the rule.

So yeah, back to school. I'm 2 weeks from the end of the quarter. I'm really looking forward to it, cause 7+ years in I'll finally be graduating, assuming I pass my senior seminar class. This retarded ass teacher of mine has equated a 20 page paper to be worth the same grade wise as a couple piddly little 6 question quizzes. Fair? I think not. Suffice it to say, I need to pull off a near perfect final paper to get a C in the class. And we all remember what I said earlier about C's, so yeah. My BSing skills are gonna be put to the test, but they've never let me down before, I don't think they'll start now. I'm currently 8 pages into my 20 page masterpiece. Its not fun.

Back to another aspect of school, the aforementioned new chick in the advising office turned out to be a pretty helpful young lady, not to mention cute. So she got me into an independent study class so that assuming I pass my senior sem class, I'll graduate on time. So to thank her for all her diligence I asked her out to dinner. Turns out we have quite a bit in common and we hit it off pretty well. She went with me to my Arizona football trip, which my Panthers won 25-10 in a damn good game, and we've been dating for a little over a month now. Its goin pretty good, I'm excited about it. So hoorah for that.

Well I guess that just about catches you up with the exciting life of Chris. Perhaps next post will be back in the video format, and not 4 months down the line. But I'm not making any promises, so yeah..... Until next time.......

My First Vlog!

So here it is, my long awaited or not so awaited debut to video blogging. This one isn't to interesting, but its my first shot and its late, so I wanted to just put something up and see how it looks. Hopefully this will be the first of many to come, and the future ones will be much more entertaining. Ok, maybe not much more, but a little bit. I promise...

I'm not a liar

I've just been busy lately. Really busy. Finals are upon me, 5 down, 1 to go. So after tomorrow night I'll be done with this quarter and get a break for a couple of weeks. From school at least. Still got work, but thats not really much. I've been tryin to get set up to do some video blogs, cause since i've been working with video so much these last 6 months i've gotten really interested in it. i saw some fathers day special at best buy that comes with a miniDV camcorder, a bad ass laptop and some editing software for $900. Even though I already have a laptop, the one in the package is better plus i get a camcorder and some editing software so i can actually do some video stuff. If only I had $900. Donations anyone? I may just sell this one, I can probably get $500 for it or so, which will cut down the cost of the new stuff.

I was trying to save this for a video post, but my USB port is messed up so i can't transfer any video files onto my computer. Yet another reason for a new laptop. But anyway, I got a haircut a couple of weeks ago. Now when I get my haircut, I don't like to chat. I just want to sit there, and you cut my hair. Thats the system I'm comfortable with. I usually go to the Cost Cutters by my house, and when I went on this particular day there was a new employee working. It was an abnormally large gay man. I have nothing against the gay man, in fact they usually do a fabulous job cutting my hair. This time was no different, the hair cut itself was fine. It was the overall experience that left me nervous. Usually when I get my haircut, the barber will ask me a question, I'll give a short, abrubt response letting them know that I don't like to talk, and the barber is fine with that. Not this guy. He just continues to babble, and the more he talks to me the more uncomfortable I get. The antisocial person that I am was writhing in my seat, hoping for this cursed haircut to come to an end. It was the most uncomfortable haircut ever.

On a more positive note, last night I movie hopped for the first time in a long time. I saw Mr. Brooks and Knocked Up. Both of these movies were fantastic. I guess the law of averages had Kevin Costner eventually making a good movie again, and coupled with William Hurt as his evil alter ego and Dane Cook, who gave a surprisingly real performance totally unlike anything I would expect to see him do, this film was outstanding. It was awesome to see the storyline develop and try to piece together the mysteries that encompassed the film. I don't want to give to much away, but since I heard that this actually got a lot of bad reviews, I'm campaigning for it now, so go see it. You won't be disappointed in the least. It's also got Demi Moore and Danielle Panabaker (Sky High!), who both did excellent jobs. Knocked Up was hilarious. It was not only incredibly funny, but it also had a good amount of heart to it, which is something I like to see in a movie. It's done by the same guys at 40 Year Old Virgin. Apparently Judd Apatow can write a great film. Also, if you want to see Ryan Seacrest go on a profanity filled tirade, then this is the film for you. On a side note, I really think thats how Seacrest is in real life, see the film. I know it's true. Its one of those films you'll go around quoting for the next 6 months, then another 6 months when it comes out on DVD. So yeah, good movies. I also saw Pirates the other day, another fantastic film. I heard mixed reviews from friends, anywhere from it was to long with drawn out action scenes to it was a really good movie. I went with the latter. It checked in at just under 3 hours, but with the exception of one scene in the final battle I liked it. Getting married in the middle of a battle was just to cheesy for me.

Ok, well thats it for now I guess. I gotta go get ready for a surprise party, so hope you kids enjoy the rest of the weekend and the start of your summers. Really, I'll write more now.
